How To Reference Journal Articles

 

 

Journal article, one author:

 

Last name, first intial, middle initial (date of article in parenthesis). Title of article (Note: Only the first word of the article and the subtitle should be capitalized). Name of the journal (in italics), the volume number, and the page numbers.

 

 

Example:

 

Grubbs, S. T. (2003). Referencing journal critique articles: Its importance in doing well in MSED 2000. MSED 2000

 

     Today, 123, 225-226.

 

(NOTE: Be sure to double space, and be sure to set your tab for 5 spaces beginning w/the second line of the reference.)

 

If there is more than one author, but less than six, list all authors in the manner indicated above.

 

If there are more than six authors, you should use the term et al. after the fourth author.
