READ 4000 Teaching Reading to Young Children 

An introduction to the major approaches to teaching reading with an emphasis on balanced reading instruction. Major topics include building literacy foundation and methods for developing word analysis, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Students are expected to apply what they learn in field experience.
