Preparing South Georgia's Teachers
for Technology

horizontal line

Valdosta State University serves as the lead institution of a
consortium with the South Georgia Region P-16, the Education
Technology Training Center, and the Georgia Project for Assistive
Technology to: 1) prepare preservice teachers to redesign learning
environments that utilize learner-focused curricula integrated with
technology; and 2) implement a program for preparing all preservice
teachers to appropriately use assistive technology in the P-12
classroom. The grant initiates three broad technology-oriented efforts to:
1) create a Virtual Learning Resource Bank; 2) utilize electronic
bulletin board communication; and 3) infuse learner-focused technology
and assistive technology training into preservice courses. These efforts
will support increased communication, replication of best practices, and
widespread sharing of information.
