In 2002, three representatives of the research committee provided a guide for researchers to use when preparing a research proposal for the ACEI International Conference.

The members of the research committee use seven criteria when reviewing the proposals for the ACEI conference. A Likert type scale is used where 1 = significant weakness and 5 = excellent. Constructive comments are given by the reviewers and should be used by the researchers to improve their presentation. Submissions that score 20+ have a good chance of being accepted for presenting at the ACEI conference.
