Forms for the
Practicum
For every lesson you formally
teach (4 for each of the 5 weeks)
- Lesson Plans
For every lesson that you teach, you need to have a lesson plan
written. Use the outlines below (the early childhood lesson plans)
to help you determine the content of your lesson ("guide to
writing LP's" or "inquiry LP's"). Use the sped lesson plan outline
to guide the structure of the information. I've included a copy of
the lesson plan evaluation rubric that we will be using in special
education to evaluate your lesson plan.
At the end of each of the 5-week
sessions
- Time
sheet - to be signed by mentor - on p. 6 of your handbook.
- Mentor teacher feedback - ask your mentor
teacher to use the "Teacher Candidate Observation Instrument"
(p. 10 of the handbook) to formally evaluate one of your
lessons for each of the two sessions. That is, you should have one
of these completed at the end of the first 5-week session and one
at the end of the second 5-week session.
- Teacher Candidate Self-Evaluation of
Dispositions - p. 14 of handbook.
- Mentor Teacher Evaluation of Dispositions - p.
16 of handbook.
At end of 10-week session
- Final Evaluation of Practicum Student by the
Mentor Teacher - p. 20 of handbook
- Self-Assessment of Video - use the "Teacher
Candidate Observation Form" (p. 10 of the handbook) and type a
self-analysis of your lesson.
- Peer Assessment of Video: Have a peer watch
your video and use the form to evaluate your teaching -
