e above office hours are tentative.  I teach on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., and I supervise student teachers for Business Education and may be at area high schools observing student teachers.  Please make appointments for advising or other assistance.

ACED 4400- Methods and Media for Teaching Accounting and Basic Business Subjects introduces prospective Business Education teachers to methods, materials, and evaluative procedures for teaching effectively in accounting and in the basic business subjects.  Field experiences are required.

ACED 4500 - Methods and Media for Teaching Business Skill Subjects gives prospective Business Education teachers the necessary knowledge and practice in using methods, materials, and evaluative procedures for teaching effectively in keyboarding, information processing, office education, and cooperative business education.  Field experiences are required.

ACED 4790 - Student Teaching in Business & Vocational Ed. is the last stage in Business Education teacher preparation.  Students will be placed in a public school with one or more mentor teachers.  Students will begin by observing for a week or two, then will pick up classes gradually until a full load is achieved.  Student teachers will carry a full teaching load for four or five weeks and then begin dropping classes gradually until the end of the semester.  The schedule for picking up and dropping classes will be agreed upon by mentor teacher, student teacher, and me.

ACED 4800 - Professional Practices Seminar is taken by students currently student teaching; therefore, the co-requisite is ACED 4790.  Student teachers in Business Education meet five times during the semester after school hours (5:00 - 6:30) at VSU to reflect on educational practices and refinement of concepts emanating from student teaching experience.
