Professional Practices Seminar

This course requires students to reflect on educational practices and refinement of concepts emanating from student teaching experience.

Students will submit by email to Dr. Ellis weekly journal entries.  These reflective journal entries should be sent Friday but are due by Sunday night at midnight.  Student teachers should explain what they are doing, what they are learning, explain duties that they are enjoying and duties that are not so enjoyable.  They should describe any victories they are experiencing and any challenges they are facing.  Dr. Ellis will reply to every journal entry.

All Business Education student teachers will meet with Dr. Ellis at least once a month for additional training and to discuss new ideas and solutions to common problems.  These meetings are part of the requirements for Professional Practices Seminar.   Our Seminars will meet in the Education Center - Room 118 (or the new 1130) on the following dates: 

Seminar #1 - Friday, January 9, 11:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Dewar College of Education Room #118
Seminar #2 - Tuesday, January 27, 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Dewar College of Education Room #118
Seminar #3 - Tuesday, February 24, 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Dewar College of Education Room #118
Seminar #4 - Tuesday, March 24, 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Dewar College of Education Room #118
Seminar #5 - Tuesday, April 28, 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.  
(This one will be at Dr. Ellis' house)
