Advisory Committee
Members of the Committee represent employers of graduates, consumers of graduates' services, and former students of the department. They are chosen to provide counsel and advisement as the department evaluates and develops programs of personnel training and service. The department convenes the Field Advisory Committee once annually to meet with the faculty members as a whole. Occasionally, members of the Committee who have specific expertise or interests are invited to attend faculty committee meetings to discuss specific topics. Telephone interviews may be conducted by individuals or groups of faculty on specific topics of mutual concern. During state and national accreditation visits, members of the Committee may be interviewed by a visitation team. The total amount of time required of a Committee member does not usually exceed five clock hours of service per year.
In addition to our annual meetings, copies of the department's monthly faculty meeting's minutes are sent to each Committee member in order to keep them informed of our activities. Annual meetings are times for discussing and making plans to perfect our programs and expand our service-related activities.
