Purpose of the Lesson
The purpose of this lesson is to underscore the need to ensure alignment of the curriculum to organizational, national, and subject-related goals and objectives.  In previous lessons, we have discussed a number of these goals and purposes of education.  This lesson also provides a review of goals and types of objectives.

It is critical that you read the assigned chapters and complete any prerequisite readings prior to completing the assignments or exam question(s) for this lesson.

Readings
Chapter 8 of the text.  Please read this chapter carefully and take notes on the most important points.  Think ahead to ways that this information can be applied to curriculum related to school-to-work issues.   

Other Prerequisite Activities
Review rules for writing goals and objectives.  If you have a copy of a methods textbook, such as Instructors and Their Jobs by Miller and Miller or a book related to writing goals and performance objectives, this is a good source.
