Purpose of the Lesson
The purpose of this lesson is to familiarize the student with techniques used  to assess needs and interests in order to develop or revise technical curriculum.  Major areas of needs and interest assessments will be discussed, along with several techniques or tools that may be used including needs and interests surveys, DACUM panels, Delphi panels, and others.

It is critical that you read the assigned chapters and complete any prerequisite readings prior to completing the assignments or exam question(s) for this lesson.

Readings
Chapters 4, 5, and 6 of the text.  Scan these chapters, but carefully read the sections noted in the PowerPoint presentation.   

Other Prerequisite Activities
Look over the sample Needs and Interest Assessment and report that I gave you on the first night of class.
